UPDATED: Catholics not to take credibility of Medjugorje for granted

As the Holy See continues to investigate the alleged apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Medjugorje, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, His Excellency the Most Reverend Gerhard Müller has directed the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America, His Excellency the Most Reverend Carlo Maria Viganò, to remind the U.S. Bishops that
...clerics and the faithful are not permitted to participate in meetings, conferences or public celebrations during which the credibility of such "apparitions" would be taken for granted (emphasis mine).
Archbishop Viganò wrote to the Bishops in a letter dated 21 October 2013, which can be read here.
