How do you read a church?

When I studied at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake / Mundelein Seminary, I took a class on church architecture from Dr. Denis McNamara.

Over the course of those ten weeks I learned a tremendous amount, for which I am deeply grateful, and can still hear him ask us, "How do you read this building?"

Now you, too, can learn how to read a church if you read his new book, How to Read Churches: A Crash Course in Ecclesiastical Architecture.
