Sad news from Glastonbury

From the days of my childhood I have enjoyed the legends of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Hence, it was with some sadness that I learned on Father Zuhlsdorf's blog that vandals have destroyed the Glastonbury Thorn.

Glastonbury is also said by some to be the resting place of King Arthur. It has also been rumored to have housed the Holy Grail at one time.

The ruins of Glastonbury Abbey are beautiful and I had hoped to visit the site and to see the famed thorn tree.

Hopefully they'll be able to get starts from the roots and/or maintain the rootstock just as they did when Cromwell's barbarians fist felled it.

[corrected] Hopefully they'll be able to get starts from the roots and/or maintain the rootstock just as they did when Cromwell's barbarians first felled it.
