In honor of the day

1491-1556
Canonized 1622

Dearest Lord,
teach me to be generous;
teach me to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labour and not to ask for reward
save that of knowing I am doing your will.

  2. Not much of a fan of jesuits, but I got an interesting email from one. I posted a bit about it with a link to a video installation series 2 jesuits did. I think it's suposed to be "damage control" from the bad press they gotten lately.

  3. Ellen, maybe your son can help whip the Jesuits into shape by emulating the example of Ignatius.

    Of course, there are good Jesuits still running around, though they seem to be a bit outnumbered at the moment.

    If what I've heard from reliable sources is true, though, that will be reversing over the course of the next decade as the new recruits enter the Order.
