Something fun

Thom offers this, well, this, something that isn't a meme:
  1. Grab the book that is closest to you.
  2. Open it to page 161.
  3. Find the fifth full sentence.
  4. Post the text of the sentence.
  5. Don't search around for the coolest or most impressive book you have: use the one that really is closest to you.
"This should be understood as follows."

From St. Bonavenutre, The Breviloquium (Paterson, New Jersey: St. Anthony Guild Press, 1963).

Okay; I'll play. The sentence reads: "Slurred rambling was typical of Nixon when he was fatigued and stressed, whether he had been drinking or not." The book is The Arrogance of Power: The Secret World of Richard Nixon, by Anthony Summers (Penguin Books, 2000).

Glad to hear that your retreat was restful and enjoyable in at least some respects, Father. Good to have you back.

  2. I've lived in Paterson most of my life and I still don't know where the St. Anthony Guild Press is/was,
